Weekend Two

May 1st I drove to Toronto with my Sis and her granddaughter Erin who has been taking her Bachelor of Education here in Ontario.

Went to a Blue Jay game with a closed roof as there had been showers all morning. The Jays lost by one run against Oakland but it was nice to have the time together.

After the game we drove to Niagara Falls where my Son had booked a motel room for us using his points. Early Mother's Day present for me and we very much enjoyed it. The room was a good size and two queen size bed. The rooms were around a centre courtyard with a pool, 2 hot tubs, game and play area and a snack bar. The motel was 1.5 miles from the Falls so very convenient. And we found an Outlet Mall about the same distance in the opposite direction.

That evening we had a lovely buffet meal at the Casino and were just steps from the Falls for my Sister and Erin to visit afterwards. Erin and I had decided to go on the large Ferris Wheel but it was too uphill for me to get to. I had enough as it was getting quite late and still the occasional showers so I headed back to the motel and let them gamble for a bit longer. They walked some of the way back then got a ride with a piazza delivery man so something new for them.

The next day, after a nice soak in the hot tub, we drove out to Chippewa to start our drive along the Niagara River. Some fruit trees in bloom so the colours were marvelous! Different to see the river from before it goes over and it added to what they had seen the night before. Stayed along the river all the way to Niagara-on-the-Lake.

The town is so pretty and has some great shops and theatre and wine. What more could you want for a visit. Saw some of the shops and then went to the Welland Canal where a ship was just leaving the lock. Would have been nicer to see it coming into the lock but they did close and refill the lock after it had left.

Then home so Erin could meet some friends at the show. They had all been together in the Dominican Republic volunteering at an orphanage last month and this was their last opportunity to see each other. Some will be back for their convocation but probably only for a day or two.

Erin flew home early the next morning and my Sister and Husband left the next morning for their Albertan home for a christening and wedding and family visits. Hoping they have a great time and very glad we had the weekend.

Sounds exhausting to me!

How did they manage to talk the pizza delivery guy into driving them?
