Olympics - Opening Ceremonies

Watched the full 5 hour replay of the Opening Ceremonies.

For some reason I was not as impressed with them as I was with the Chinese nor Vancouver ceremonies.  Maybe it is an age thing.  Seemed so slow moving.  Part may have been due to the added security but there felt no excitement and joy to it.  Lovely colours and uniforms and some excited competitors but that was it.

Does mean plenty of time to know.  Am showing the shawl against the long side of 8 1/2 x 11 paper.

That is one edge so not an accurate idea of the finished length of the shawl but gives a good idea of how fast it has been working up.  Will be pretty open but the yarn and drape will hopefully make it warm enough for her.  Very pleased with how well the colours are showing up.
